Sanguisorba menziesii
Sanguisorba menziesii
This lovely sanguisorba cultivar flowers for many weeks from late spring and finishes just as Sanguisorba officinalis begins. The wiry stems grow from an insignificant clump of slightly glaucous oblong leaves and if not deadheaded will gently self seed. It does well for me in both dry and very boggy conditions so it's very versatile.
I originally purchased this cultivar as a plant labelled Sanguisorba tenuifolia but I'm quite certain it is infact Menziesii.
