A sun loving South African native. Plants have lovely dark green strap shaped leaves and gently scented white flowers on strong upright stems. Makes a good cut flower.

Growing:
Sow indoors or under glass in early spring. Use 15cm pots. Surface sow onto moist, well-drained seed compost, use quite a few seeds per pot. Just cover seed with a sprinkling of soil. Ideal temp. 19°C. Germination takes 3-4 weeks but can be slow. When germinated transplant the whole clump of seedlings to a larger, deeper pot, approx. 30cm diam. Try not to disturb the roots. Grow on. Feed with a liquid fertiliser until the leaves die down. Bulbs should form. Store bulb in a frost free, only slightly damp soil. Repot the following spring individually. Lift and store bulbs again the following winter. Plant out the following spring.
