A compact, clump forming plant from with branched stems bearing  oblong crimson flowers. Adds  wonderful movement to the garden and is perfect for achieving a naturalistic feel. Encourage strong growth with good cut back mid summer.

Soil requirements : Average/ Moist but well drained

Sowing method :

Transplant 
When to sow : Sow indoors spring or autumn
Depth : Surface sow, cover thinly
Germination : 14-28 days. 

If germination does not occur after 3-4 weeks cold stratify. Move seeds to a fridge, ideal temp. 4°C for 2-4 weeks, then return to warmth for germination.
Ideal germination temperature : 20°C

Spacing : 40-60cm
Flowers : December - March

Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle to 8cm pots and grow on. Acclimatise and plant out after danger of frost has passed. Autumn sowings should be planted out the following spring.
