These bright pink flowers look great along side grasses. They seemingly float on their tall wiry stems all summer. The base of the plant is a small clump of inconspicuous grass like leaves and in its second year will have up to twenty stems of flowers.
Its natural habitat is dry grassy mountainous areas up to 2500m high. It was named to commemorate the Carthusian monks from the French Alps in the 11th Century.
